Privacy Policy

Last updated 15 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Valisio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Valisio website and flight search service (the “Service”). Valisio helps you discover flight options and recommendations; ticket purchases are completed on partner sites.

We use cookies to improve your experience and analyze site usage.

1. Who we are

Valisio operates a web application that searches flight options, shows ranked recommendations, and may redirect you to a travel partner to complete a booking (affiliate / deep-link). We do not require you to create an account to search.

2. Information we collect

Search details you provide. When you search, we process the route parameters you enter — for example origin and destination, dates, travellers, cabin class, and optional filters (budget, stops, baggage, and similar preferences). These details are sent to our backend so we can return flight results.

Anonymous session identifier. The Service stores a random session ID in your browser’s local storage and sends it with flight search requests so we can correlate a search session. This ID is not tied to your name or email.

Preference settings. Your language and currency choices are stored in functional cookies (`valisio_lang`, `valisio_currency`) so the Service remembers them on your next visit. They contain only the selected codes and are not used for analytics.

Cookie consent choice. We store whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies (`cookie_consent`) in local storage.

Usage analytics (only with consent). If you accept cookies, we use PostHog (EU) to understand how the Service is used — for example product events, approximate technical data (browser/device), and optionally session replay / error signals as configured. If you decline, we do not initialise PostHog and do not send analytics events from the client.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential local storage for session continuity and your consent choice, and functional cookies for your language and currency. These are strictly necessary for the Service to work as you set it up and do not require consent. Analytics cookies and similar technologies from PostHog are used only after you press Accept on our cookie banner.

You can change your analytics choice at any time using the controls above. You can also clear site data for Valisio in your browser settings; this removes stored consent, session ID, and your language and currency cookies.

4. How we use information

To run the Service: fulfil search requests, display results and recommendations, and keep your UI preferences.

To improve the product: if you consented to analytics, to measure feature usage, diagnose issues, and improve ranking and UX.

To maintain security and reliability of the Service.

5. Sharing and partners

Flight search and related processing may involve our hosting and infrastructure providers acting on our instructions.

Analytics. With your consent, PostHog processes analytics data in the EU region as configured for Valisio.

Booking partners. When you choose to book, we may redirect you to a partner website (for example via an affiliate link). That partner’s own privacy policy and terms apply to any booking, payment, or account you create there. Valisio does not process your payment card details for ticket purchase.

6. Data retention

Local storage items (session ID, preferences, consent) remain in your browser until you clear them or they are replaced by the Service.

Search and analytics data retained on our systems or by processors is kept only as long as needed for the purposes above, operational logs, security, and legal obligations — then deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

7. International transfers

Depending on where you are and where our providers operate, information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we use PostHog with consent, analytics are directed to the EU PostHog instance configured for Valisio.

8. Your choices and rights

You can accept or decline analytics cookies via the banner. Declining does not block core flight search.

You can clear local storage / site data in your browser to remove the session ID, preferences, and consent choice.

Depending on your location (for example under GDPR or similar laws), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing, or to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The final policy will include the verified contact for requests that require our help.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
